In the current work environment across all sectors stress is just eating people from the inside out. Those who still have jobs are happy to have them and the unemployed are still looking. Your point about white collar jobs also having a layer of "office politics" is so true but unfortunately that sector of the work force is also highly stressed and often without representation or recourse. I just want to provide an environment where people can let out the anger/anxiety...have some ideas to cope.

Comment on Read this if you’re stressed

Great points on the effects on the body stress presents. I also never really considered the control factor of blue-collar employment, or the lack of control. I wonder if some aspects of white-collar jobs are beginning to exhibit the same "lack of control" that blue-collar jobs do, though maybe not a physical level, but maybe on a bureaucratic process-procedure. Just food for thought.

Comment on stress sucks… 10 tips to try

Good stuff! Too often this practice drains us instead of the desired goal to get ahead.

Comment on work-life balance? myth or attainable.

Well, I'm always struggled to find that balanced life. My father used to say, "Dan, just find your happy medium." Those words were not in my vocabulary. I'm learning slowly but surely how to heed those words. Meditation has helped me a great deal. Thanks for the healthy reminder!

Comment on Web Manners

Hi Queen Bee,

I totally agree it's always a good idea to send a little thank you to people who have a desire to connect with you. Sure, there are seemingly millions of those autobots out there but that should not dissuade someone from reaching out to the folks who truly want to connect. I know I like it when someones sends a quick 'hello.' Thanks for the positive message!
